“Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?”
—Luke 12:6, KJV
You ever notice how God doesn’t overlook the small things?
This sparrow—just sitting there on a crooked branch—isn’t flashy. No bright colors, no grand call. But God sees it. He made it. And not one of them falls without Him knowing. That’s what Jesus said.
Sometimes we think our lives have to be big to matter. Loud to be heard. But that’s not how heaven sees things. According to the Bible, even a sparrow—sold for a couple of coins in the marketplace—is never forgotten by God. That kind of love is quiet, sure, and steady.
And that’s good news for us. Because life isn’t always fireworks and mountaintops. Some days, we’re just trying to hold our ground on the branch we’ve landed on. Maybe we don’t feel seen. Maybe the world moves too fast and we’ve been left out of the spotlight.
But not with God.
He sees every detail. He counts the hairs on our heads (Luke 12:7). He watches the sparrow, and He watches us—with the same careful, loving eye. That’s not sentiment. That’s Scripture.
So if today feels small or unseen, remember this: the God of heaven watches the sparrow… and He’s watching over you, too.
